self-catering holidays with a difference
Treat yourselves to an all-inclusive, great value luxury self-catering holiday at Tredarrup Farm. Because we believe self-catering shouldn’t have to mean cramming the car with everything bar the kitchen sink!
Self-catering holidays are very popular – and with good reason. Having your own space, and the freedom and privacy to please yourselves in a relaxing home-from-home environment are just some of the reasons to choose to a self-catering holiday cottage.
But, let’s face it, staying in a luxury hotel also has its pluses. Not least, that feeling of escapism that comes from being able to just throw some pyjamas and a toothbrush in an overnight bag, without a care for the boring everyday stuff such as loo roll and bin bags!
Well, here at Tredarrup Farm we like to think we bring you the best of both worlds.
All-inclusive luxury self-catering holidays where we’ve taken care of everything for you. Where you can arrive to a kitchen full of your favourite foods and a bathroom burgeoning with loo rolls and luxury toiletries. So you can finish work, pack that overnight bag and escape.
You’ll find your cottage equipped with everything you might need whilst you’re here. We’re generous too – there’s enough of everything for the duration of your stay, not just your first night. Plus you’ll find lot of lovely luxury extras that we hope will make your holiday feel just that extra bit special.
We like to think of it as self-catering with knobs on!
What's Included
In the Kitchen
Welcome
We provide a welcome pack for your arrival that contains: Cornish milk, freshly baked bread, Cornish butter, eggs from our hens, local apple juice, Cornish tea and filter coffee, beans for the coffee machine and a treat or two. So, once you’ve unloaded your car, you can sit down and enjoy a restorative cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake. If you have any special dietary requirements then please let us know in advance and we will do our best to supply alternatives.
In your kitchen
We provide sea salt and black pepper, sugar, local rapeseed oil, artisan vinegar, garlic granules, chilli flakes, mixed herbs, kitchen roll, aluminium foil, plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, a washing-up sponge and cloth, tea-towels and an oven mitt. There are also plastic tubs, ice packs and a cool bag should you wish to take packed lunches on your excursions. There’s no need to bring bottled water with you either – we have our own private supply of pure fresh springwater. Nothing added, nothing taken away, just filtered and far nicer tasting than tap water. Flasks and cups are provided so you can take hot or cold drinks with you on your day-trips without the need for plastic bottles. Under the sink you will find a small selection of cleaning products too should you need them.
Food & Drink
We’re big fans of shopping locally to reduce food miles, support small local businesses and reduce unnecessary packaging. Thankfully, there are lots of local Cornish businesses delivering to us here at Tredarrup.
There’s a local farm shop that will deliver fresh Cornish produce, along with everyday essentials, to your cottage ready for your arrival – they even unpack and put it away for you! You can order online at www.food4myholiday.com. This is particularly useful if you’re visiting us from overseas and don’t have a UK supermarket account.
The Cornish Food Box Company deliver boxes of beautifully fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and dairy to us. Also BBQ and breakfast boxes.
Cornwall produces some amazing wines, beers and spirits too and these can all be delivered from our excellent local wine merchant, Wadebridge Wines, ready for your arrival.
We’re also happy to take delivery of a supermarket shop on the day of your arrival, so there’s no need to pack lots of food in the car or trawl round a supermarket when you arrive, and we’ll put any chilled items in your fridge/freezer for you. Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Asda all deliver to Tredarrup – just let us know your delivery time slot in advance.
In the Living Room
You’ll find a selection of books, magazines and games in each cottage, plus a notepad and pen. Netflix is available free-of-charge and there’s also catch-up tv available. You’ll find an Ordnance Survey map of the local area and some guidebooks and printouts of walks in North Cornwall.
In all cottages there’s a DAB radio with Bluetooth speaker, so don’t forget to load some music onto your device to play whilst you’re here. Each cottage has a standard USB socket so you can just bring a charging cable and leave the bulky plug at home. There are also wireless phone chargers with bluetooth speakers in the bedrooms – 1 in The Wagon and Shippon and 2 in Stable Cottage. We also have a few worldwide-to-UK plug adapters available – please let us know if you would like one during your stay.
There will be a basket of logs in your cottage for your first evening or two with some kindling, newspaper and firelighters – please help yourself to more from the log store in the courtyard outside the cottages. A bag of eco-friendly, locally sourced charcoal is also provided for your barbecue.
In the bedroom and bathroom
In your bathroom you’ll find a range of luxury natural toiletries from Bramley: hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, plus bubble bath in Stable Cottage. We also provide plenty of environmentally friendly loo roll – enough for your stay. There’s a hairdryer in each bedroom too.
In our cottages for couples, Shippon and The Wagon, we also provide bath-robes for relaxing in after a shower or for lounging in on a Sunday morning with your complimentary Sunday newspaper!

In the Shared Utility Room
There are some outdoor games kept in the utility room too, such as badminton, swingball, boules, quoits, water pistols and footballs. We have some children’s bodyboards and adult/teenage traditional Cornish wooden bellyboards too that you’re very welcome to take to the beach, along with buckets and spades and crabbing lines.
A first aid kit for humans and dogs can also be found in the utility room, as can a vacuum cleaner should you need one.
Should you have any questions before your stay regarding what to bring, or what not to bring, or what’s available locally then please do drop us a line – we’re always happy to answer any queries you may have.
