Step Inside...
Generous and welcoming, Stable Cottage is ideal for dog-friendly family farm holidays in Cornwall.
As you might guess, it was once home to the farm’s horses, who can still be seen grazing contentedly in the neighbouring fields. Evidence of its former use can be found right under your feet in the huge granite flags, well-worn by centuries of hooves.
Meticulously converted at the turn of the millennium, the barn now has a large open-plan living space with a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen and breakfast room. Beyond you’ll find a relaxed seating area, where you can sink into the huge and squishy corner sofa from Loaf. It’s the perfect cosy spot for movie nights in front of the fire and planning the next day’s adventures.
Along the cobbled hallway lie two supremely comfortable double bedrooms. Both are cocooned by thick stone walls and adorned with Egyptian cotton bedlinen. The luxury Hypnos bed in the master bedroom ensure a restful night’s sleep and there’s an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower. The second bedroom meanwhile has traditional iron bedsteads, which can be configured as two singles or a super king-size double. Adjoining is the large family bathroom, with a large rainfall shower cubicle and a roll-top bath for long relaxing soaks and splashy children’s bath times.
From the stable door in your living room, step into your own private woodland wildlife garden with sweeping rural views. Watch the sun set over the farm and across Cornwall from the comfort of your armchair, glass of wine in hand. And, as night falls, grab a blanket or two and hunker down around the fire pit with a steaming mug of Cornish hot chocolate. From here you can watch the acrobatic evening dance of the bats across the farm and be serenaded by the snuffling of hedgehogs and twit-twooing of tawny owls.
